Key Responsibilities As an Insurance Agency Bookkeeper with Wahve, you'll be working closely with our clients in retail broker, wholesale broker, or MGA roles. Your responsibilities will include: Managing the General Ledger, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Commission Payable, to ensure accurate financial records. Preparing monthly management and producer commission payable reports to inform business decisions. Reconciling carrier commission statements and resolving any accounting discrepancies with insurance carriers and/or producers. Preparing monthly and annual financial statements to provide a clear picture of our clients' financial health. Maintaining the budget using both Excel and Agency Management systems, ensuring seamless financial management. Utilizing agency management systems, such as EPIC and AMS360, to streamline processes and improve efficiency. Essential Qualifications To become a successful Insurance Agency Bookkeeper with Wahve, you'll need: A minimum of 25 years of full-time work experience, providing a deep understanding of the insurance industry. At least 10 years of premium accounting experience in the last 10 years, ensuring you're up-to-date with industry practices. Proficiency in using agency management systems, with EPIC and AMS360 being highly desirable. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve accounting discrepancies and manage financial records. Excellent communication skills to work effectively with clients and internal teams. Preferred Qualifications While not mandatory, the following qualifications can enhance your application: Experience with financial statement preparation and budgeting. Knowledge of insurance industry trends and regulations. Proficiency in Excel and other financial management tools. A proven track record of working independently in a remote setting.
