Job Overview As an Insurance Customer Service Representative I, you'll play a vital role in our day-to-day operations, providing top-notch service to our customers and driving business growth through effective communication and problem-solving. This is an excellent opportunity to launch or advance your career in insurance customer service, with comprehensive training and support to ensure your success. Key Responsibilities Answer incoming phone calls, processing address change requests, claim-related calls, and payments, while providing exceptional customer service and resolving issues efficiently. Process discounts received through email or mail, applying judgment to determine effective dates and ensuring proper documentation. Assist senior customer service representatives in researching premium differences, identifying discrepancies, and resolving issues. Develop strong technical skills using our insurance software and Microsoft Office platform, while gaining a deep understanding of insurance industry principles and our agency's policies and procedures. Process returned mail, correcting errors and striving to obtain working knowledge of impacts, to ensure seamless customer service. Cross-sell other lines of insurance and AAA products and services, elevating complex questions to the next level of customer service authority as needed. Qualifications and Requirements Essential Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Previous experience in a customer service environment, preferably in insurance or a related field. Ability to obtain a P&C License within two years of job entry. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in insurance customer service or a related field. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to quickly learn our insurance software. Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you'll need: Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on building strong relationships. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers, agents, and internal stakeholders. Problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently. Technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn our insurance software. Adaptability and flexibility, with a willingness to learn and grow with our organization.
