Receive requests from multiple sources (phone, fax, e-Commerce, in-person) and complete the necessary processes for equipment services. Coordinate home equipment service requests with Dispatch for prompt delivery, ensuring that customers receive their equipment in a timely manner. Engage in active listening with customers, confirming or clarifying information, and diffusing angry customers as needed. Provide customers with product and service information, maintaining current knowledge on Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payor sources for equipment. Verify medical necessity, insurance coverage, and physician orders for all insurance-assigned services, following policy and work instructions to ensure the Billing Department has the correct paperwork to complete insurance. Strive to meet or exceed department metrics while providing excellent customer service, making sales or recommendations for products or services that may complement client needs, as applicable. Perform other duties as assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities and requirements. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). 6 months of relevant customer service experience preferred, with a proven track record of providing exceptional service in a fast-paced environment. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage with customers, internal stakeholders, and external partners. Customer service orientation, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional service and support to our customers. Attention to detail, with the ability to accurately process requests and complete necessary paperwork. Good data entry skills, with proficiency in computers and strong typing skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a willingness to adapt to changing priorities and requirements. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred: Previous experience working in a call center or customer service environment, with a strong understanding of customer service principles and practices. Knowledge of medical equipment and services, with a strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payor sources. Experience working with customers who have disabilities or special needs, with a strong understanding of the importance of accessibility and inclusivity.
