Job Overview As a Customer Service Agent with blithequark, you will be the face of our company, extending hospitality to our customers at the ticket counter, baggage service office, and gate area. You will be responsible for providing amazing customer service to individuals traveling with us, using our freight or baggage services, and ensuring that their needs are met with a smile. Your role will be critical in setting a friendly tone for our customers' journey, and we are looking for someone who is friendly, patient, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Offer friendly assistance and maintain positive relationships with all internal and external customers Work in a cooperative spirit to ensure the success of our organization Provide exceptional customer service to individuals wanting to travel, use freight or baggage services by handling their needs Handle all aspects of ticketing and check-in by operating an automated retail system, boarding, baggage services, reservations, and resolving related complaints and issues Greet and handle customers in a courteous and friendly manner, handling cash, checks, credit cards, travel vouchers, and coupons as forms of payment for tickets Process transactions, make change, and balance daily transactions, being responsible for any overage or shortage Check in baggage and freight, answer phone calls to provide information to guests, page customers, resolve issues or complaints, and assist as needed Handle transactions required to board the aircraft in an efficient and timely manner Manage upset customers due to oversells, delayed or canceled flights, lost, delayed, or damaged baggage, resolving issues quickly and within guidelines set by the organization Provide current and accurate admission, schedule, reservations, flight arrival/departure information, and answer general questions from customers and other airport visitors Complete forms and reports as required by the organization Prepare incident and complaint reports as necessary Perform other work duties as directed by Supervisors Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a Bachelor's Degree and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should be able to work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of professionalism in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, you should be able to: Type or use a computer keyboard with adequate speed to meet the needs of the job Understand documents, follow instructions, learn and understand ticketing procedures, rules, and regulations Work cooperatively with others as part of a team, meet the public, and work under stressful conditions Complete the Customer Service Specialist training program with an 80% or higher average and a probationary period Be aware of hazardous situations and be able to handle emergencies on a case-by-case basis Work under close time constraints to achieve quick turns of aircraft Maintain a well-groomed appearance in accordance with the Ground Operations Agent Handbook and Employment Agreement Perform all job functions within a limited space Communicate verbally by phone, in person, and on public address systems effectively Have good written and oral skills Be able to communicate information and instructions verbally or via radio equipment Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Previous experience in customer service or a related field Knowledge of the aviation industry and its regulations Ability to speak multiple languages Experience working with automated retail systems and computer software Career Growth and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
