About the Role The Ramp & Customer Service Agent is a dynamic and challenging role that requires a unique blend of customer service skills, physical ability, and attention to detail. As a successful candidate, you will be responsible for assisting guests with their travel needs, performing below wing functions such as loading and offloading luggage and cargo, and ensuring the overall safety and security of our operations. Key Responsibilities Assist guests with travel needs, such as answering inquiries, checking-in passengers, and boarding flights, in a friendly and professional manner Perform below wing functions, including transporting baggage and cargo, loading and offloading luggage and cargo, aircraft marshaling, and pushing back the aircraft Conduct aircraft grooming and security searches to ensure the safety and security of our operations Perform boarding and gate duties, including assisting and directing guests, making announcements, and processing standby and upgrade requests Process and secure guest luggage, including filing and maintaining luggage claims as necessary Load and offload luggage and cargo using conveyor belts, and perform other duties as assigned by management Day in the Life As a Ramp & Customer Service Agent, your day will be filled with a variety of tasks and challenges. You will start your day by reviewing the flight schedule and preparing for the arrival and departure of our guests. You will then assist guests with their travel needs, perform below wing functions, and ensure the overall safety and security of our operations. Throughout the day, you will work closely with our airport teams to ensure that every guest has a seamless and enjoyable journey. Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong foundation in customer service, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will need to have: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and colleagues Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on attention to detail and safety A valid unexpired driver's license issued by a US state, a US territory, or the District of Columbia Ability to learn and operate a computerized reservation system, with a typing speed of at least 25 WPM Ability to consistently lift 50 pounds, and stand for long periods of time, with the ability to bend, stoop, squat, reach, and grasp Ability to perform basic mathematics, and work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays Ability to participate in paid training that may require overnight travel, and obtain airport security clearance High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum age of 18, and authorization to work in the U.S. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: A minimum of 1 year of customer service or community service experience Airport SIDA Badge Requirements, with the ability to obtain a SIDA badge provided by the airport authority and maintain good standing Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
