About the Position The School of Educational Foundations, Leadership and Aviation (SEFLA) in the College of Education and Human Sciences at OSU is looking for a talented individual to fill a 9-month Teaching Assistant Professor position in Educational Psychology, starting in August 2024. This is a non-tenure track, renewable position that offers the opportunity to focus on teaching, mentoring, and developing the Master's program in Educational Psychology. Key Responsibilities Teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in Educational Psychology, with a typical teaching load of 3:3. Advising and supervising Master's-level students, with a focus on mentoring and guiding their academic and professional development. Coordinating, expanding, and developing the Master's program in Educational Psychology, including recruiting students from diverse backgrounds. Serving the school, college, university, and profession through various service activities, such as committee work, peer review, and community engagement. Essential Qualifications To be considered for this position, candidates must have: An earned doctorate in Educational Psychology, the Learning Sciences, Developmental Psychology, or a closely related field. A strong potential for excellence in teaching and administrative skills related to program coordination. A commitment to recruiting students from diverse backgrounds and expanding the Master's program. Candidates who are ABD (All But Dissertation) will be considered, but an earned doctorate is preferred. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly valued: Excellence in online teaching or prior K-12 experience. Diverse skillsets and competencies, as well as creative pedagogical approaches. Potential for increased collaboration with other programs in the college, particularly in teaching or recruitment/service efforts. Equity-mindedness and a commitment to inclusive excellence. A demonstrated commitment to OSU's land-grant mission and an interest in empirically-based solutions for reducing educational disparities.
