Job Summary The Team Read Teaching Assistant will work closely with the Reading Specialists to support and deliver reading instruction to small groups of students. This role involves adapting and modifying instruction to meet the needs of individual students, assisting with independent assignments, and observing student behavior and performance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for working with students. Key Responsibilities Works with individual students, small groups, or whole classes to provide instruction and support of lessons taught by the teacher. Adapts and modifies instruction using the regular education curriculum and/or implements instruction using modified curriculum under the direction of the teacher. Assists students with independent assignments, enrichment work, and other activities as assigned by the teacher. Supports students in various classes, including those outside of their homeroom class. Observes student behavior and performance, providing feedback to the teacher. Assists substitute teachers in the absence of the regular teacher. Serves as a substitute teacher with prior permission from the teacher. Assists the teacher in developing instructional strategies and materials. Attends workshops and conferences as permitted by the building administrator. Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must possess: A current Professional Educator License with Stipulations (PARA). A high level of ethical behavior, confidentiality, and professionalism. The ability to work harmoniously and effectively with teachers, students, parents, and district administrators. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: A current Professional Educator License (PEL). Experience working in a educational setting.
