About the Role We're looking for a skilled Software Engineer to develop and operate high-quality systems at Netflix scale, focusing on detection and prevention across the fraud landscape. As a key member of our Trust Services and Enforcement team, you'll have the opportunity to enhance the efficiency and performance of our fraud services, ensuring they remain agile and effective against evolving threats. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and operate production-quality systems to detect and prevent fraud at Netflix scale. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas of improvement and implement solutions to minimize tech debt. Participate in project-based development and operational coverage to ensure the continued effectiveness of our services. Stay ahead of emerging fraud schemes by developing and refining our detection and prevention capabilities. Work closely with the Trust & Safety organization to execute the strategic vision and address complex problems related to account takeover, service abuse, customer-targeted scams, and more. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: A passion for protecting our customers and a commitment to delivering exceptional service. 2+ years of experience with Java for backend development, with a strong understanding of software development principles. The ability to collaborate effectively within and across teams, driving technical goals and objectives. Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a willingness to adapt to changing priorities. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following skills and experience will give you a competitive edge: Working knowledge of networking concepts and/or prior experience in security, with a deep understanding of the threat landscape. Experience developing at-scale systems, with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability. Familiarity with cloud-based technologies and distributed systems. Skills and Competencies To excel as a Software Engineer on our Trust & Safety team, you'll need: Strong programming skills, with a focus on Java and backend development. Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a talent for debugging and troubleshooting complex issues.
