As a part of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our patients and contribute to the success of our organization. **Job Summary** As a Part-Time Remote Customer Service Specialist for our After Hours Support team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, healthcare providers, and facilities through inbound calls, emails, and other communication channels. You will be the initial point of contact for patients and healthcare providers, navigating complex issues and providing accurate and timely information to facilitate patient care. This role requires strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. **Responsibilities** * Navigate the electronic health record to obtain and validate historical information, capture and document demographic and financial information, and maintain patient privacy and security as outlined by HIPAA. * Manage a high volume of incoming calls from patients, healthcare providers, and facilities, ensuring resolution to the call and providing excellent customer service in a variety of situations. * Leverage critical thinking with speed and accuracy to identify reason for the call and take appropriate action based on caller need and acuity. * Research complex issues in the electronic health record and consult/escalate to clinical staff when necessary. * Schedule patient visits based on complex provider preferences, verify and update insurance, and collect and document demographics. * Maintain proficiency in and share knowledge of insurance basics, MyChart, and appointment instructions. * Document and send messages to providers and clinical staff in the electronic health record for clinical-based needs. * Communicate directly with providers (physicians) to relay pertinent clinical information during after hours. * Manage calls within established performance and customer service standards, achieving targeted abandoned call rate, average speed of answer, and average transaction time. **Requirements** * High School Diploma or GED * 2-5 years of experience in customer service or a related field * Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment * Ability to navigate electronic health records and other software systems * Strong attention to detail and accuracy * Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner **Preferred Qualifications** * Experience in a healthcare or customer service environment * Knowledge of electronic health records and other software systems * Experience with MyChart and other patient engagement platforms * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with clinical staff **Benefits and Compensation** As a Part-Time Remote Customer Service Specialist for our After Hours Support team, you will be eligible for a range of benefits and compensation, including: * Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and legal services available first day of the month after hire date * Disability insurance paid for by blithequark * Pension Plan/403(b) Plan funded by blithequark * 401(k) plan with blithequark match * Tuition Assistance available on first day * BJC Institute for Learning and Development * Health Care and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts * Paid Time Off benefit combines vacation, sick days, holidays, and personal time * Adoption assistance **Work Environment and Culture** As a remote employee, you will have the flexibility to work from the comfort of your own home or a designated workspace.
