Job Summary: Math Teacher/Tutor As a Math Teacher/Tutor at Mathnasium, you'll play a vital role in helping students gain confidence in their math skills, develop a growth mindset, and discover the joy of learning. You'll work with students in grades K-12, teaching them off of their customized learning plans, and assisting with homework completion. Our instructors typically work 2+ days per week for 3-4 hour shifts, with a focus on afternoons after 3 pm during weekdays. Key Responsibilities: Teach students in grades K-12 off of their customized learning plans, tailored to their individual needs and goals. Assist students with homework completion, providing guidance and support as needed. Deliver high-quality instruction, using Mathnasium's proprietary curriculum and teaching strategies. Create a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages student participation and motivation. Monitor student progress, providing feedback and adjusting instruction to meet their evolving needs. Participate in ongoing training and professional development, staying up-to-date on best practices in math education. Essential Qualifications: Strong math proficiency up to Algebra (proficiency through Geometry and Calculus is a plus). Exceptional score on Mathnasium's Math Literacy exam (covering material from 2nd grade and up). Availability for at least 2 weekday shifts, with a focus on afternoons after 3 pm. Clear record on state and national background checks. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in teaching or tutoring math, particularly with students in grades K-12. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities, maintaining a flexible and positive attitude. Skills and Competencies: Strong math skills, with a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and principles. Excellent teaching and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and concise manner. Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students overcome challenges and achieve their goals. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to drive student success.
