Key Responsibilities Teach assigned classes using the educational philosophy and policies adopted by the Board of Education, utilizing State and District curriculum guidelines to inform instruction. Plan and implement a program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of students, using a range of instructional methods and available resources. Interpret and use data from various educational sources to improve instruction and student outcomes. Identify students with special learning needs and develop strategies to support their learning. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to promote student success and well-being. Maintain accurate records and make reports as necessary, ensuring compliance with district and state requirements. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement, motivation, and academic achievement. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay current with developments in mathematics education. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum, assess student learning, and improve instructional practices. Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must: Hold or be eligible for State of Delaware Certification in Middle Level Math. Have a strong understanding of mathematics curriculum and instructional methods. Be able to stand and work continuously for a minimum of 4 hours per workday. Be able to lift 50 pounds (with assistance) and use arms and hands without restrictions to accommodate the physical, mobility, and ambulatory needs of students. Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Be able to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience teaching mathematics at the middle level. Knowledge of technology integration in mathematics education. Experience working with students with diverse learning needs. Participation in professional development opportunities related to mathematics education.
