As a bilingual after school tutor, you'll play a vital role in shaping the minds of young students and helping them achieve their academic goals. About the Role We're looking for qualified and enthusiastic bilingual after school tutors to work with students in grades preschool through 12. As a tutor, you'll provide small group direct instruction, support students with a prescribed curriculum, and ensure that students are actively engaged and motivated to learn. Key Responsibilities Provide differentiation in small group direct instruction to meet the diverse needs of students Implement instructional routines and learning strategies as outlined in the curriculum and presented in professional development sessions Ensure that students are actively engaged and provide individual help throughout each session with a focus on student growth Administer pre-tests and post-tests to assess student progress and understanding Progress monitor and record student growth to inform instruction and make data-driven decisions Submit daily attendance and communicate with parents as necessary Collaborate with classroom teachers to share progress monitoring results and develop strategies for student success Supervise students during transition times, snack periods, and dismissal Attend mandatory professional development sessions specifically designed for the after school program Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the program Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications Illinois Professional Educators License with Bilingual Education endorsement required Appropriate certification and licensure required, especially for High School positions Bilingual skills in English and another language (Thursdays are mandatory bilingual days) Teaching experience in the relevant grade level is preferred Preferred Qualifications Experience working with diverse student populations and English language learners Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team What We Offer Competitive Compensation and Benefits We offer a competitive hourly wage for teachers, with grant-funded year-to-year opportunities.
