Position Summary We invite applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor with expertise in the area of animal physiology to start in August 2024. The successful candidate will be expected to: Hold a Ph.D. in Biology or a related field by August 2024 Have post-doctoral research experience (preferred) Demonstrate success or potential to excel in teaching and advising undergraduates Show evidence of ongoing scholarly productivity Teach organismal biology and upper-level courses in animal physiology and cell and molecular biology Develop a compelling research program accessible to undergraduate student participation and collaboration Key Responsibilities As an Assistant Professor of Biology at Susquehanna University, you will be expected to: Teach a range of biology courses, including organismal biology, animal physiology, and cell and molecular biology Develop and maintain a research program that involves undergraduate students and aligns with the university's research priorities Provide academic advising and mentorship to undergraduate students Participate in departmental and university-wide service, including committee work and outreach activities Contribute to the university's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion Essential and Preferred Qualifications To be considered for this position, you should: Have a Ph.D. in Biology or a related field by August 2024 Have post-doctoral research experience (preferred) Demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and advising undergraduates Show evidence of ongoing scholarly productivity Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you should possess: Strong knowledge of animal physiology and biology Excellent teaching and communication skills Ability to develop and maintain a research program Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion Ability to work effectively with undergraduate students and colleagues Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Susquehanna University, we are committed to supporting the professional growth and development of our faculty.
