Job Summary As an Art Teacher with Harrison School District Two, you will be responsible for creating an engaging and supportive learning environment that encourages students to explore their creativity and develop their artistic skills. You will work with students of varying ages and skill levels, designing and implementing lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners. Your goal will be to help students develop the skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed for college and career readiness, while also promoting a love of learning and a appreciation for the arts. Key Responsibilities Curriculum Development: Plan and implement a comprehensive art curriculum that aligns with state and national standards, and meets the needs of diverse learners. Classroom Management: Create a positive and respectful classroom environment that encourages student participation, creativity, and critical thinking. Instructional Delivery: Deliver high-quality instruction that engages students and promotes learning, using a variety of teaching methods and technologies. Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and implement assessments to measure student learning and progress, and provide constructive feedback to students and parents. Communication: Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, using a variety of communication tools and strategies. Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives, and to support student learning and achievement. Essential Qualifications Colorado Teaching License: Possess or be eligible to receive a Colorado Teaching License, with an endorsement in Art Education. Content Knowledge: Demonstrate a strong understanding of art history, theory, and techniques, as well as experience with art education pedagogy. Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. Organizational Skills: Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities. Preferred Qualifications Art Education Experience: Experience teaching art education in a K-12 setting, with a strong track record of student achievement and engagement. Technology Integration: Experience integrating technology into art education, including digital art tools and software. Project-Based Learning: Experience with project-based learning and inquiry-based instruction, with a focus on student-centered learning. Skills and Competencies Creativity and Innovation: Demonstrate creativity and innovation in instructional design and delivery.
