About the Role We're seeking a reliable, passionate, and experienced Substitute Teacher to join our team in Hillsdale, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll have the opportunity to gain hands-on teaching experience on your own schedule, working with students of various ages and backgrounds. Our Substitute Teachers are the backbone of our organization, and we're committed to providing you with the tools, support, and resources you need to excel in the classroom. Key Responsibilities Teach a variety of subjects, including math, science, English, and social studies, to students in elementary, middle, and high school settings Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, adapting to the needs of each classroom and student Manage classroom behavior, maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and school administrators, providing regular updates on student progress Collaborate with other educators to develop and implement curriculum, sharing best practices and expertise Participate in professional development opportunities, staying up-to-date on the latest teaching methods and technologies Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need: An Associate's or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor A NJ Substitute Credential A background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this!)
