Responsibilities Global Banking and Advisory (GLBA) combines wholesale coverage with world-class product financing and advisory expertise within one team. We currently have open roles within our following investment banking divisions. We provide our issuer clients (corporates, financial institutions, public sector) with capital raising solutions, along with structured financing and commodities, forex, and interest rate hedging. Developing tailor-made products and providing strategic advice (capital structure advisory, financing schemes and capital markets) based on our worldwide expertise and in-depth sectorial knowledge, we aim to meet their financing needs. The business lines within SGCIB include: Corporate Credit, Debt Capital Markets (Public Issues and Private Placements, High Yield when appropriate), Strategic Acquisition Finance, Mergers & Acquisitions, Equity Capital Markets (Public Issues and Private Placements, Share Repurchase), Strategic Equity Transactions (Structured Share Repurchase, hedging of equity exposures), Project Finance, Asset Finance, Export Finance, Securitization, Foreign Exchange hedging, Interest Rate and Commodity exposures, Credit Ratings Advisory, Loan Syndications, Deposits and other investments, and Pension Fund investments. SG product teams based outside of SGCIB include local banking services (loans, cash management, hedging, etc.) through the French and International network of local banks, Cash Management, Vehicle Fleet Leasing and Management, Vendor Finance, Receivables Finance, and Securities Services. Job Summary: • As a member of the US Banking team, you will work directly with the COO and engage across all portfolios in the franchise including TMT, Industrials, Diversified, Energy, Insurance, and Healthcare • The candidate will be expected to operate at the level of a first-year analyst (functions, skills, etc.) • The candidate will be assisting the COO across a multitude of projects, including strategy, capital optimization, portfolio analysis, transversal projects to help the team, and the mono product portfolio • A successful candidate will have strong hard and soft skills, support the team from both an analytical and marketing perspective, and will be extremely organized and reliable Main daily responsibilities: • Support the COO in strategy development, capital optimization, portfolio analysis, mono product portfolio • Assist in the execution of strategy • Conduct analysis and will have the opportunity to develop financial modelling and corporate finance skills • Manage administrative duties linked to the Investment Banking role A questionnaire will be provided to you in order to check your VIE (Société Générale and Business France) eligibility. Studies & experience: • Graduate with a Master's degree from a Business/Engineering School or University with a specialization in Finance • A previous experience in the Financial Industry or in a client facing role is a plus, but not a pre-requisite Language skills: • Fluent in English Operational, technical & soft skills: • Excellent analytical skills • Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint is required • Organizational skills • Ability to work in a high stress environment • First class marketing skills • A self-confident person who is a self-starter • Highly motivated and reliable, well organized, with a strong team spirit and excellent attention to detail • Strong written and oral communication skills • Ability to complete accurate work under significant pressure • Awareness of and experience in working with people with international backgrounds is a plus • Accurately prioritizing tasks and managing competing deadlines The VIE assignment in a nutshell This VIE in New York is to begin as soon as possible, but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 18 months. In case a visa is necessary, please make sure your passport is valid up to 6 months after the end of the VIE contract to not delay your departure.
