TAX RESOLUTION / IRS REPRESENTATION SPECIALIST (EA/CPA/ATTORNEY) – REMOTE (FULL-TIME W2) Pay: $70,000–$90,000 per year (depending on experience) Job Type: Full-time (W2 employee only) Location: Remote Schedule: 40 hours per week Core Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM EST Company Website: www.TaxProblemSolver.com ABOUT US Tax Problem Solver is a nationally recognized tax resolution firm with over 40 years of proven success, headquartered in Florida. We specialize in tax controversy and IRS representation (not tax preparation). We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated, detail-oriented Tax Resolution/Controversy Professional to join our growing team. IMPORTANT NOTES This is a full-time employee position only. Independent contractors should not apply. This is not a tax preparer role. Tax preparation experience is helpful, but applicants must have significant hands-on tax controversy experience and direct IRS/state representation experience. This role requires someone who can manage cases independently. You must be comfortable completing technical case work without relying heavily on administrative support. POSITION SUMMARY This role is for an experienced tax resolution professional who can own a case from start to finish. You will analyze client financials, determine strategies, prepare documentation, communicate with clients, negotiate directly with taxing authorities, and move cases forward efficiently and accurately. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Manage a high-volume caseload (75–100 active cases) while maintaining accuracy and quality • Represent clients professionally before the IRS and state taxing authorities • Review and analyze client financials to determine appropriate resolution strategies • Prepare financial reports, documentation requests, and submissions to the IRS and state agencies • Research and craft strategic arguments using the Internal Revenue Manual (IRM), IRS policy, revenue procedures, and applicable law • Negotiate directly with IRS and state agencies • Monitor case progress and ensure timely follow-ups and next steps • Maintain proactive client communication (expectations, updates, timelines, and next steps) • Manage correspondence with taxing authorities and ensure compliance and accuracy • Assist clients in removing federal tax liens, wage garnishments, and levies through effective advocacy • Maintain organized digital files, notes, and task management • Prepare clean, accurate, and well-supported workpapers • Attend regular meetings for caseload review, company updates, and performance feedback • Communicate scheduling needs (CPE, appointments, etc.) in advance • Perform other job-related duties and project tasks as assigned • Provide exceptional service to support long-term client relationships QUALIFICATIONS • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on tax resolution experience • Minimum 5+ years negotiating directly with the IRS and state taxing agencies • Extensive knowledge of IRS processes and procedures including collections, examinations, innocent spouse, offers in compromise, appeals, advisory functions, penalty abatement, and identity theft • Strong understanding of the Internal Revenue Manual (IRM) and the ability to develop persuasive arguments using IRS policy, revenue procedures, and applicable laws • Strong interpersonal skills, negotiation ability, conflict-resolution skills, and follow-through • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage tasks independently • Proficient with computers, tax resolution systems, and accounting software • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and a strong customer service mindset • Ability to pass background and reference checks REQUIREMENTS Active credential required: Enrolled Agent (EA), CPA, or Attorney Bachelor’s degree required Personal cellphone with reliable service (firm provides phone app for office line) Computer with at least 16GB–32GB RAM and high-speed internet (minimum 100 Mbps) Ability to work required core hours Full-time employment only (no independent contractors) BENEFITS PACKAGE (available after 90 days of employment) Paid training Bonus and performance-based perk opportunities 120 hours paid vacation (160 hours after 5 years) Paid sick days 401(k) after one year of service Work from home COMPENSATION $70,000–$90,000 per year, commensurate with experience SCREENING QUESTIONS (REQUIRED) Please answer the following questions in your application.
