The Research Administration Specialist I role involves supporting faculty in proposal development, budget management, and ensuring compliance with sponsor guidelines while maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders. Responsibilities Actively manage strong working relationships with divisions, faculty, and other key stakeholders. Respond to requests quickly and effectively. Identify and understand customer needs and expectations and meet them Supports faculty in the development of sponsored program proposals and related documents. Interprets sponsor guidelines, compiles required documents and attachments, and prepares sponsored program budgets under supervision. Ensures accurate documentation and timely submission to Sponsored Research Services, following established procedures Develop sponsored program budgets by gathering and organizing expenditure data such as salaries, fringe benefits, and supplies. Supports senior staff in calculating basic budget components and ensures alignment with sponsor guidelines under supervision. Collaborates with faculty to confirm feasibility and completeness of budget details Reviews proposals for compliance with sponsor and institutional policies. Supports senior staff in verifying proposal accuracy and completeness, and ensures required documentation is compiled for submission. Follows established business processes and guidelines to help facilitate timely and accurate submission to Sponsored Research Services Effectively manage a portfolio of divisions Skills Bachelor's Degree in a related field 0-2 years in research administration or a related job discipline Proficient with Microsoft Office tools Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and adaptability Effective written and communication skills Basic understanding of sponsor portals (e.g. Grants.gov, eRACommons) Company Overview Cincinnati Children’s, a nonprofit academic medical center established in 1883, offers services from well-child care to treatment for the most rare and complex conditions.
