About the Role As a Part-Time Remote Tutor with Revolution Prep, you will play a crucial role in shaping the academic journey of our students. Your primary responsibilities will include: Tutoring students in a variety of academic and test prep subjects, with a focus on STEM and AP subjects (80% of your work schedule) Communicating with families regarding student progress, providing recommendations for student success, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction (10% of your work schedule) Participating in ongoing professional development and subject expansion to stay up-to-date with the latest teaching methodologies and subject matter expertise (5% of your work schedule) Preparing for sessions using Revolution Prep-provided materials, ensuring a high-quality learning experience for our students (5% of your work schedule) Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must possess: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degrees are welcomed Previous teaching or tutoring experience, although not required, is highly desirable Expertise in STEM and/or AP academic subjects, with a focus on subjects such as AP Physics, AP Computer Science, AP Statistics, AP Calculus, and AP Chemistry Proficiency in foreign languages, specifically Chinese, is a plus A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring student satisfaction A "growth mindset," characterized by a willingness to learn, adapt to change, and take on new challenges The ability to comfortably provide academic support to students in algebra I, geometry, and algebra II High-speed internet with the ability to connect via ethernet cable, as well as a clean, quiet, professional setting for online sessions The ability to teach consecutive online tutoring sessions while sitting or standing for extended periods, two to six days per week Availability to work during peak tutoring hours, including at least one weekend day Authorization to work in the United States, with current residence in the US Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications can enhance your application: Experience teaching or tutoring in a virtual environment Familiarity with Revolution Prep's teaching methodologies and materials A proven track record of improving student outcomes and achieving academic success Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you must possess: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with students, families, and colleagues A strong subject matter expertise in STEM and/or AP academic subjects The ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities A commitment to ongoing professional growth and development Technical skills, including proficiency in using digital tools and platforms to support online tutoring Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Revolution Prep, we are committed to supporting the ongoing growth and development of our team members.
