Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to teach elective courses in social work in various instructional formats, including traditional classroom, hybrid, or online settings. As a Part-Time Lecturer, you will have the opportunity to inspire and educate students in the Department of Criminal Justice and Sociology, contributing to the growth and development of the next generation of social work professionals. Key Responsibilities: Teach elective courses in social work in a variety of instructional formats, including traditional classroom, hybrid, or online settings Develop and deliver course materials, assignments, and assessments that align with the university's curriculum and standards Engage with students, provide guidance, and support their academic and professional growth Participate in departmental meetings, events, and activities that promote collaboration and community engagement Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and grades Adhere to university policies, procedures, and regulations Essential Qualifications: To be considered for this role, you should possess the following qualifications: Earned Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Social Work Previous teaching experience at the college level is highly desired Ability to meet Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requirements Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Proficiency in instructional technologies and learning management systems Preferred Qualifications: While not required, the following qualifications are highly preferred: Doctoral degree in Social Work or a related field Experience with curriculum development and program assessment Familiarity with online and hybrid teaching methodologies Involvement in community engagement and outreach initiatives Skills and Competencies: To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and competencies: Excellent teaching and communication skills Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations Strong organizational and time management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and learning management systems Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced academic environment Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: At Columbus State University, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of our faculty members.
