Job Summary The Paraprofessional - Regular Education - CLS will work in the academic support center of Normal Community West High School to provide targeted support to students, both in-person and virtual. You'll work closely with Interventionists to identify and address the needs of each student, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve academic success. Key Responsibilities Communicate with referring teachers to understand the support needed for each student Re-teach key concepts, vocabulary skills, and other areas as indicated by classroom teachers Monitor re-assessment of concepts, skills, vocabulary, and other areas to ensure student understanding Supervise independent student work and technology-based lessons used for remediation and online learning Collaborate with Administration and Guidance to develop a peer tutoring program Monitor attendance, behavior, and academic success of students, providing support and guidance as needed Collaborate with other student support staff to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to student support Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need: A registered license with the Regional Office of Education #17 at the time of hire Excellent oral and written communication skills to work effectively with teachers, education support personnel, building administrators, and the general public The ability to enforce school regulations and policies in a professional manner Strong interpersonal skills to maintain good working relationships with fellow employees and pupils The ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 10 lbs. Compensation and Benefits We offer a competitive salary range of $18.00-$20.16, based on experience, as per the 2023-2024 Teaching Assistant Salary Schedule.
