Freelance Social Media Analyst & Insight Interpreter
We’re looking for a highly skilled freelance Social Media Analyst to support our marketing agency with ongoing monthly reporting and insight interpretation across multiple client accounts. This is a freelance position working remotely with flexible hours as long as deadlines are consistently met. About the Role You’ll be responsible for analysing social media performance across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn for five separate clients and producing clear, well-structured monthly reports. These reports will not only include data, but also strategic interpretation, insights, and recommendations that feed directly into our internal and client strategy sessions. This role is ideal for someone who understands that analytics is more than reporting numbers. You’ll help influence what happens next. Key Responsibilities: Produce five monthly consolidated performance reports, one per client. Collect and analyse performance data from Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Create clear visual summaries (charts, tables, graphs) where helpful. Interpret what the data means, including: Monthly performance analysis Platform-specific behaviour differences Trend spotting and audience behaviour insights Opportunities for growth and improvement Underperforming areas requiring attention Provide actionable recommendations aligned with next month’s goals. Ensure consistency in tone, formatting, and structure across all reporting. Attend (if required) a short monthly debrief with the internal team to align reporting with upcoming content goals. What the Reports Must Include: Each client report should be a single streamlined document covering: Audience growth and engagement trends Content performance breakdown across all platforms Paid vs organic insights (where applicable) Competitor or industry benchmark observations (where possible) Clear ‘what this means’ narrative Bullet-pointed next-step recommendations Raw data alone is not enough — we are looking for insight, interpretation, and strategic direction. Required Skills & Experience: Proven experience in social media analytics and reporting Strong understanding of Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn performance metrics Ability to translate numbers into strategy and narrative (data storytelling) Comfortable presenting insights and recommendations Excellent written communication skills Reliable, deadline-driven, and organised Technical Expertise (Ideal) Meta Business Suite LinkedIn Analytics Instagram Insights Google Looker Studio, Metricool, Sprout, Later or similar reporting tools Strong Excel, Google Sheets, or dashboard capability Qualifications We’re open and flexible, but the ideal candidate will have: Background in digital marketing, communications, analytics, or a related field Minimum 3 years experience in social media analysis Portfolio or sample report required Timeline & Workflow Reports delivered once per month. Preferred delivery window: 27th of each month. Expected workload will grow as processes streamline. Compensation: Paid on a monthly retainer basis, covering all five client reports and insight interpretation. Final rate will depend on experience and demonstrated capability.
