Over 400 employees with competitive benefits and perks The Role We are seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our team. As an Underwriter, you will be responsible for managing loans through final credit approval, working closely with Sales, Loan Analysts, closers/funders, and valuation analysts. You will need to possess a deep understanding of residential lending programs and practices, as well as the ability to partner with sales and processing to move loans efficiently through the pipeline. Key Responsibilities Underwrite multiple mortgage loan products in compliance with company credit guidelines and regulatory requirements Review loan files for completeness, identify missing documentation, and generate condition lists for applicants Collaborate with the loan analyst and salesperson to complete credit analysis in a timely manner Ensure accurate data entry into the loan origination system Review and own all loan file details prior to submission to the closing manager, including work done by upstream partners Work with loan analysts and closers to ensure a smooth hand-off of files Manage constant deal flow, prioritize tasks, and ensure loans close on time with a high degree of accuracy Identify and report suspected fraudulent activity, escalating issues to management when necessary Stay up-to-date with company policies, procedures, and federal and state regulatory changes through in-house training events Proficiently manage pipeline activities Qualifications Essential Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or relative experience 3+ years of residential mortgage lending experience with good knowledge of lending regulations and credit/collateral analysis practices Underwriting or processing experience with fix & flip hard money loans is a plus Preferred Skills and Abilities Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and constantly changing business environment Intermediate-level PC proficiency Comfortable with new technology systems and paperless environments Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment and provide good customer service Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Kiavi, we prioritize the growth and development of our employees.
