Job Overview We are looking for a highly motivated and organized Data Entry Clerk to type information into our database from paper documents, ensuring accurate and updated data that is easily accessible through our digital database. As a key member of our team, you will report to a Data Manager or another senior data team member, playing a vital role in maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of our data. Key Responsibilities Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders, or optical scanners, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Type in data provided directly from customers, maintaining a high level of attention to detail and adherence to data confidentiality principles. Verify data by comparing it to source documents, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Update existing data, retrieving information from the database or electronic files as requested. Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation, maintaining the security and integrity of our digital database. Sort and organize paperwork after entering data, ensuring that all documents are properly filed and easily accessible. Requirements and Skills To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications: Proven experience as a Data Entry Clerk, with a strong track record of accuracy and efficiency. Fast typing skills, with a strong preference for knowledge of the touch typing system. Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets, including MS Office Word and Excel. Working knowledge of office equipment, computer hardware, and peripheral devices. Basic understanding of databases, with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies. Good command of English, both oral and written, with excellent customer service skills. Great attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. High school degree or equivalent, with a strong foundation in mathematics and computer skills. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications and skills are highly desirable: Experience working in the background screening industry, with a strong understanding of data confidentiality principles and regulations.
