About the Role: Principal DevOps Engineer We're seeking an experienced Principal DevOps Engineer to join our team at Aetna, a CVS Health company. As a Principal DevOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving organizational change by developing and implementing DevOps tooling, practices, and culture. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and implementation of DevOps strategies, tools, and practices that drive efficiency, scalability, and reliability across our technology landscape. Design and implement DevOps best practices, including version control, code review, automated testing, and deployment strategies that ensure high-quality software delivery. Develop and manage infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar, to provision and manage resources across cloud environments (GCP preferred/Azure/AWS). Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar, to ensure fast and reliable application deployment. Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure adherence to industry best practices and regulatory requirements, fostering a culture of security and compliance. Monitor and analyze DevOps pipelines and practices, identifying areas for improvement, optimization, and automation to enhance deployment/fallback consistency and accuracy. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices, making recommendations for their adoption within our DevOps environment. Coach and provide technical guidance to junior colleagues, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning. Essential Qualifications Proven experience with at least 4 years of involvement in DevOps data platform development, preferably in a senior or lead capacity. Experience working in cloud environments (GCP preferred/Azure/AWS) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Proficiency in infrastructure as code concepts and tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) for automating resource provisioning and configuration. Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline tools (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI) and version control systems (e.g., Git). Strong scripting skills in languages like Python, Bash, or similar. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex DevOps platform issues and provide effective solutions. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Cloud Logging Solutions) to ensure application performance and system health. Knowledge of security best practices in DevOps, including experience with vulnerability scanning, compliance frameworks, and secure deployment practices. Leadership experience, including mentoring and guiding junior engineers, is a plus. Education Bachelor's or alternatively Graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related field.
