Job Overview As a Part Time Remote Customer Service Specialist at arenaflex, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service to our patients, healthcare providers, and facilities. You will be responsible for answering a high volume of inbound calls, navigating our electronic health record system, and facilitating patient healthcare needs. Key Responsibilities Navigate the electronic health record system to obtain and validate historical information, capture and document demographic and financial information, and maintain accountability for accurate data entry while ensuring patient privacy and security as outlined by HIPAA. Manage a high volume of incoming calls from patients, healthcare providers, and facilities, ensuring resolution to the call and providing excellent customer service in a variety of situations. Leverage critical thinking with speed and accuracy to identify the reason for the call and take appropriate action based on caller need and acuity, researching complex issues in the electronic health record and consulting/escalating to clinical staff when necessary. Schedule patient visits based on complex provider preferences, verify and update insurance, and collect and document demographics, maintaining proficiency in and sharing knowledge of insurance basics, MyChart, and appointment instructions. Manage calls within established performance and customer service standards, achieving targeted abandoned call rate, average speed of answer, and average transaction time, and communicating in a professional, positive, and respectful manner with patients, providers, arenaflex staff, and external organizations. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have a High School Diploma or GED and 2-5 years of experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in the healthcare industry. You will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a strong attention to detail. Additionally, you will need to have a typing speed of at least 35 words per minute with 90% accuracy and be able to work a part-time schedule of 28 hours per week. Preferred Qualifications While not required, having recent healthcare experience and knowledge of electronic health record systems would be highly beneficial in this role. You will also need to have a strong understanding of customer service principles and practices, as well as the ability to work in a remote environment with minimal supervision. Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to have strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will also need to be highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
