Job Overview As a Remote Part Time Customer Service Specialist at arenaflex, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service to our patients, healthcare providers, and facilities. You will be the initial point of contact and a liaison between patients, healthcare facilities, physicians, clinical staff, and practices, facilitating patient healthcare needs and ensuring seamless coordination of care. Key Responsibilities Navigate the electronic health record to obtain and validate historical information, capture and document demographic and financial information, and maintain accountability for accurate data entry while ensuring patient privacy and security as outlined by HIPAA. Manage a high volume of incoming calls from patients, healthcare providers, and facilities, resolving issues and providing excellent customer service in a variety of situations. Leverage critical thinking with speed and accuracy to identify the reason for the call and take appropriate action based on caller need and acuity, researching complex issues and consulting/escalating to clinical staff when necessary. Schedule patient visits based on complex provider preferences, verify and update insurance, and collect and document demographics, maintaining proficiency in and sharing knowledge of insurance basics, MyChart, and appointment instructions. Manage calls within established performance and customer service standards, achieving targeted abandoned call rate, average speed of answer, and average transaction time, and providing excellent and consistent customer service in a variety of situations. Essential Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. 2-5 years of experience in healthcare or customer service, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional patient care and customer service. Typing speed of minimum 35 wpm with 90% accuracy. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner, as this is a safety-sensitive position. Must live within 1 hour of St. Louis, Missouri, and be available to work a part-time schedule of 24 hours per week, including Sunday 12:00a-9:30a, Thursday & Friday 4:00p-12:00p, and participate in a holiday rotation. Preferred Qualifications Recent healthcare experience, with knowledge of medical terminology and electronic health records. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research complex issues and consult/escalate to clinical staff when necessary. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate in a professional, positive, and respectful manner with patients, providers, and external organizations. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
