Job Overview We're looking for an experienced K5 Reading & Math Tutor to provide high-quality, in-person tutoring sessions to students preparing for standardized tests such as SSAT, ISEE, and HSPT. As an In-Person Academic Tutor, you'll work closely with students to understand their unique learning styles and create customized lesson plans that cater to their individual needs. Key Responsibilities Provide in-person tutoring sessions to students preparing for the SSAT/ISEE/HSPT exams, focusing on K5 reading and math. Design and execute customized lesson plans for individual students, tailoring your approach to their learning style and needs. Administer practice exams and evaluate student progress, identifying areas for improvement. Collaborate with students' families to keep them informed of student progress, providing regular updates and feedback. Stay up-to-date with changes in the SSAT/ISEE/HSPT exams and adjust lesson plans accordingly. Maintain accurate records of session details, scores, and student progress, ensuring seamless communication with students and families. Essential Qualifications To excel in this role, you'll need: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Experience in tutoring, teaching, or test preparation, with a focus on K5 reading and math. Strong interpersonal and clear communication skills, with the ability to connect with students, families, and colleagues. The ability to develop customized lesson plans for individual students, adapting to their unique needs and learning styles. A flexible schedule, with availability to work evenings and weekends as required. The ability to work independently and remotely, as needed, with minimal supervision. A self-motivated and committed approach to helping students succeed, with a passion for education. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge: Past experience teaching the SSAT/ISEE/HSPT exams, or a strong understanding of the test formats and content.
