About the Home Care Aide Role As a Home Care Aide at HumanGood, you will play a vital role in providing personalized care and support to our residents in the comfort of their private residences. This position requires a unique blend of empathy, patience, and professionalism, as you will be working closely with residents to understand their interests, needs, and preferences. Your goal will be to assist residents in maximizing their independence, participation, and overall well-being, while maintaining the highest standards of customer service and care. Key Responsibilities: Provide assistance with personal care activities, such as dressing, grooming, ambulating, transferring, feeding, bathing, and oral hygiene Develop awareness of residents' interests and needs, and assist them in participating in social activities and events Prepare meals and assist with dining activities, as needed Escort clients to medical and social appointments, store, or run errands, as required Perform home management tasks, including housekeeping, shopping, laundry, and sorting mail Accurately report unusual symptoms and problems of residents to supervisors Document daily records and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA privacy rules and company policies Provide effective customer service skills, meeting the standards and culture expectations of the company Essential Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a combination of skills, experience, and personal qualities, including: High school diploma or equivalent required Previous experience in home care or a related field, preferred Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members Strong interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Basic computer skills and proficiency in using a computer for input of resident information Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA privacy rules Preferred Qualifications: While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Certification as a Home Care Aide or a related field Experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities Knowledge of local resources and services available to seniors Bilingual or multilingual skills Experience with electronic medical records (EMRs) or other healthcare software Skills and Competencies: To excel in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following skills and competencies: Empathy and compassion for residents and their families Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software and systems Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA privacy rules Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: At HumanGood, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of our team members.
