As a Gaming Club Instructor, you will have the opportunity to lead online gaming sessions, develop lesson plans, and foster a love for learning through play in a safe and inclusive environment. Key Responsibilities Conduct Weekly Sessions: Facilitate online gaming club sessions that are interactive and educational, typically 1 hour in length. Game Selection & Curriculum Development: Choose age-appropriate games and develop lesson plans that promote teamwork, strategy, and critical thinking. Foster a Positive Environment: Create a welcoming and supportive atmosphere where all students feel comfortable participating and sharing ideas. Encourage Teamwork & Collaboration: Guide students in working together to achieve common goals within the games. Provide Feedback: Offer constructive feedback and support to students, helping them improve their skills and knowledge. Engagement & Communication: Maintain clear communication with students and parents regarding session schedules, content, and student progress. Stay Current: Keep up-to-date with the latest trends in gaming and educational practices to enhance the learning experience. Essential Qualifications Gaming Knowledge: Strong understanding of various games and gaming platforms (e.g., PC, console, mobile). Teaching Experience: Prior experience teaching or working with children in an educational or recreational setting is preferred. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to engage with students of various ages. Passion for Gaming & Education: A genuine enthusiasm for gaming and a desire to share that passion with students. Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using online teaching platforms and tools (e.g., Zoom, Discord). Background Check: Must be willing to undergo a background check as required by Outschool policies. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Online Teaching: Experience with online teaching platforms and tools is a plus. Familiarity with Educational Games: Familiarity with educational games and gaming platforms is preferred. Certification in Education: Certification in education or a related field is an asset. Skills and Competencies Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Technical Skills: Proficient in using online teaching platforms and tools. Game Knowledge: Strong understanding of various games and gaming platforms. Lesson Planning: Ability to develop engaging and interactive lesson plans. Classroom Management: Ability to manage online classrooms and ensure a positive learning environment. Compensation, Perks, and Benefits As a Gaming Club Instructor, you'll have the opportunity to earn a competitive salary, based on experience and session attendance. Our compensation package includes: Competitive Pay: $10.00 - $35.00 per hour, based on experience and session attendance.
