Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate 988 Chat/Text Specialist to join our team on a full-time basis. This remote position is available to candidates based in the United States and offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals experiencing emotional distress. As a 988 Chat/Text Specialist, you will be part of a 24/7/365 mental health crisis and suicide prevention team, providing critical support to those in need. Key Responsibilities Provide telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments to individuals contacting the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL) via the 988 chat/text platform. Answer crisis contacts via the chat/text platform to assess for suicide, safety, and identify appropriate community resources to best meet individual needs. Conduct follow-up calls for individuals who are deemed moderate to high risk for suicide, ensuring continued support and safety. Maintain the highest ethical and clinical standards in compliance with all accreditation requirements. Actively participate in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings to ensure professional growth and development. Assist in administrative tasks as needed, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the team. Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must possess a bachelor's degree in behavioral science, psychology, social work, or a related field, or be a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist. Additionally, you should have at least six months to one year of related crisis experience, demonstrating your ability to provide effective support and intervention in high-pressure situations. Preferred Qualifications While not required, preferred qualifications include experience working in a mental health crisis or suicide prevention setting, as well as knowledge of suicide assessments and crisis intervention techniques.
