Experienced Data Scientist – Remote Clinical Trials and Real-World Evidence (RWE) Researcher

About the Role We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join our team as a Remote Clinical Trials and Real-World Evidence (RWE) Researcher. As a key member of our Clinical Operations team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality, certifiable proof (RWE) through cutting-edge research and innovative methodologies in the clinical trials space. Key Responsibilities Mine crude information datasets to convey normalized, analysis-ready patient companions from in-house information resources or authorized stages, break down and decipher results, and help shape investigation methodology. Collaborate with other members of the Walgreens Clinical Trials team to convey meaningful insights from real-world, clinical, and other information sources to support biopharmaceutical RWE and clinical trial requests. Potential endeavors include examination of unmet needs, safe and effective treatment in specific disease states, treatment patterns, and healthcare financial burden, and cost-effectiveness modeling. Cleans, transforms, and stores information into an integrated data lake for future analysis and broader team utilization. Performs data mining and statistical analysis to examine RWE/RWD to discover new insights regarding patient populations and treatment results. Supports the development of real-world evidence, analysis, and stage capabilities, applying advanced research and tools to resolve scientific questions from biopharmaceutical organizations. Works collaboratively on the design and execution of results research studies. Ensures high-quality, thorough, and interpretable findings from RWE review and investigations. Constructs dashboards, analysis, and reports for internal and external use. Conducts a reasonable level of effort on new certifiable information suppliers, vendors, and drive RWD quality evaluations to inform project decisions. Essential Capabilities To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential capabilities: Experience in designing and executing robust and reproducible statistical analyses regarding the study of disease transmission and observational research with healthcare data. Knowledge of standard statistical testing methods including generalized linear models, clustering and segmentation, decision trees, unsupervised learning, time series analysis, and survival analysis. Experience handling large datasets from various information sources. Experience managing protected patient health data. Knowledge of at least one of the following: Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Spotfire, or other BI insight tools. Preferred Capabilities While not essential, the following preferred capabilities would be beneficial for this role: PhD, Graduate degree in statistics/biostatistics, software engineering, mathematics, systems engineering, biomedical engineering, or related field. Skills in EMR/Health IT, disease registries, and claims data sets. Ability in clinical data standards, clinical terminologies, and controlled vocabularies used in healthcare data and ontologies (ICD9/10/ReadCode). Experience in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) as well as regulatory compliance rules for real-world evidence studies or clinical trials (e.g., ISO, MDD/MDR, CFR). Experience working on alternative data sources and alternative methods for clinical data collection, particularly those enabled by technology platforms and solutions. Experience with exploratory design, Bayesian modeling, sequential data, computational statistics. Understanding of statistics and AI techniques, ability to continue self-learning of technical and non-technical skills.
