Job Overview We are currently seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our Security and Legal Information Engineering team. As a Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in building robust, scalable, and privacy-driven data structures that enable us to maintain the highest level of data protection and compliance with local security regulations and guidelines in over 190 countries where we operate. This is a part-time, remote opportunity, offering flexibility and work-life balance. Key Responsibilities Design and develop efficient, scalable, and flexible data pipelines to handle structured and unstructured data using various technologies such as Flash, Voila, Flink, Kafka, and others Write ETL tasks to collect and aggregate data, and build high-quality data structures that enable appropriate handling of customer personal data Collaborate with the privacy engineering teams to understand product goals and provide data that enables us to respond to customer and regulatory data demands Maintain and re-evaluate existing datasets and pipelines to ensure data accuracy and integrity Join a talented team of data engineers who enhance our data protection act and mitigate legal and regulatory risk Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should have: A strong passion for consumer-driven data privacy and risk mitigation for the business Proficiency in at least one of Java, Python, or Scala, with a minimum of 2 years of programming/data engineering experience Experience with advanced SQL and data modeling Knowledge of designing data pipelines using big data technologies (Hive, Voila, Flash, Flink) on medium to large-scale datasets Ability to take requirements and implement scalable data models and pipelines A drive to exhibit excellence, learn new technologies, and grow your career Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience with cloud-based data platforms and technologies Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Career Growth and Development At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
