Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to join our team at blithequark. As a Customer Service Representative, you will be the face of our company, providing prompt, courteous customer service to our valued customers. You will be responsible for ringing up sales on the cash register, handling money, checks, and other forms of payment, and performing various duties to maintain store cleanliness and upkeep. Key Responsibilities Provide prompt, courteous customer service to all customers, responding to their inquiries and resolving any issues in a professional and efficient manner Ring up sales on the cash register and properly handle money, checks, and other forms of payment received for products and/or services sold Perform multi-function operation of the fuel console, ensuring accurate and efficient transactions Maintain store cleanliness and perform basic upkeep and/or cleaning of all equipment in the store, including cleaning duties as necessary Assist in maintaining proper inventory levels and shift audits, controlling merchandise, cash shortages, and other selling expenses Perform all duties with minimum supervision and work irregular hours as needed, including evening and weekend shifts Stand and/or walk up to eight hours per day, lifting and/or carrying up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead for up to 30 minutes per day Be exposed to occasional cold temperature extremes while performing occasional work in a walk-in cooler and/or freezer Grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hands up to eight hours per day, requiring eye-hand coordination and coordination of both hands for up to four hours per day Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: High School graduate or equivalent, demonstrating a strong foundation in basic arithmetic operations Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand and follow instructions as given Excellent customer service skills, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced retail environment Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including evening and weekend shifts Proficient with a telephone, cash register, fuel console, money order machine, microwave, grill, nacho machine, coffee grinder, and other equipment Ability to properly handle and use various materials, including cloth, paper, plastic, glass, rubber, liquids, cleaning solvents, and other substances Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following preferred qualifications will be highly regarded: Previous experience in a customer-facing role, demonstrating a strong understanding of customer service principles and practices Experience working in a retail environment, with knowledge of inventory management and cash handling procedures Basic computer skills, with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies Ability to work in a team environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Customer Focus : A strong customer-centric approach, with a passion for delivering exceptional service and ensuring customer satisfaction Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers, colleagues, and management Teamwork : A willingness to work collaboratively with others, demonstrating a positive and supportive attitude Adaptability : The ability to adapt to changing circumstances, including flexible scheduling and varying work demands Attention to Detail : A strong attention to detail, with the ability to accurately process transactions and maintain inventory levels Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
