About the Role of an Academic Tutor and Mentor We are seeking passionate and experienced educators to join our team as Academic Tutors and Mentors. As an Academic Tutor and Mentor, you will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with high school students, primarily in the areas of math and science, including AP level courses. Your role will be to provide holistic support to your students, not only in their academic pursuits but also in their personal growth and development. Key Responsibilities Provide one-on-one tutoring to high school students in math and science, including AP level courses Develop and implement personalized learning plans tailored to each student's needs and goals Offer holistic support to students, addressing their academic, social, and emotional needs Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment Stay up-to-date with curriculum developments and best practices in tutoring and mentoring Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge Essential Qualifications 2+ years of direct experience in one-on-one tutoring in math and science, including AP level courses Bachelor's degree in a relevant field Availability to tutor during weekdays (usually after 3 PM) and/or weekends Reliable internet access for video conferencing Strong communication and interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications College-level tutoring experience Willingness to train to tutor the SAT/ACT Experience working with students with learning differences Flexibility to work remotely and adapt to changing schedules Skills and Competencies Strong subject matter expertise in math and science Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong organizational and time management skills Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with youth Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At ESM Prep, we are committed to the growth and development of our team members.
