Key Responsibilities Instructional Strategies: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and needs. Utilize technology to enhance the teaching-learning process. Collaborate with special education teachers to tailor curricula for students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Work with teacher aides and volunteers to support student learning. Student Growth and Development: Assess student learning through formal and informal testing to inform instruction. Help students develop effective study methods and habits. Sponsor extracurricular activities that enrich student experiences. Classroom Management and Organization: Create a conducive learning environment that supports the physical, social, and emotional development of students. Manage student behavior according to the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook. Take necessary precautions to ensure student safety and protect school resources. Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with parents, students, and colleagues through regular conferences and updates. Present information clearly and accurately to diverse audiences. Professional Growth and Development: Participate in staff development activities to enhance job-related skills. Demonstrate a commitment to professional improvement and ethical practice. Qualifications and Skills To excel in this role, you should possess: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. A valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements. Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. At least one year of student teaching or an approved internship. The ability to instruct students and manage their behavior effectively. Knowledge of curriculum and instruction, with the ability to adapt to different learning styles. Preferred qualifications include experience working with diverse student populations and a background in integrating technology into the classroom.
