Key Responsibilities Provide reading and writing intervention to students in small group settings, pushing into regular classrooms or co-teaching with classroom teachers. Meet and instruct assigned classes in designated locations and times, both individually and collaboratively. Complete and submit forms and required reports in a timely manner, maintaining accurate and complete records. Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and other educational concerns. Participate as a member of IEP teams, 504 teams, or other student assistance teams as requested. Plan and implement a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of all students using data-driven decision-making. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of all students. Assess student accomplishments on a regular basis, providing progress reports as required. Evaluate student learning problems, seeking assistance from District specialists as needed. Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment, taking necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Collaborate with administrators, colleagues, and parents in a positive and productive manner. Strive to implement the District's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives. Qualifications and Requirements Minimum Qualifications Missouri teacher certificate in elementary (1-6) or Early Childhood (B-3). Preferred Qualifications Special reading certification or ability to obtain provisional certificate in special reading while working towards full certification. Successful teaching experience in primary grades. Professional and friendly demeanor with a demonstrated ability to work well with a variety of individuals in a fast-paced environment. Essential Skills and Competencies Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, Board policy, administrative procedures, and governmental regulations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present information effectively and respond to questions. Ability to work with mathematical concepts, such as probability and statistical inference, and analyze data for instruction. Knowledge of current educational theory and instructional techniques, with the ability to adapt instructional methods to meet individual student needs. Proficiency in integrating technology into daily instruction, including the use of district software, smart boards, and other instructional technology. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, and parents.
