Job Summary: Inspiring Student Success through Physical Education As a Teacher: Physical Education, you will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging physical education programs that cater to the diverse needs of our students. You will create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student involvement, motivation, and achievement. Your expertise will help students develop essential life skills, such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving, while fostering a lifelong appreciation for physical activity and healthy living. Key Responsibilities: Driving Student Success Develops and implements comprehensive physical education lesson plans that align with curriculum frameworks and cater to diverse student needs. Creates a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement, motivation, and achievement. Assesses student progress using a range of evaluation techniques, providing constructive feedback and guidance to support student growth. Fosters a culture of respect, empathy, and inclusivity, promoting positive relationships among students, colleagues, and the broader school community. Collaborates with colleagues, parents, and students to identify and address student needs, developing targeted strategies to support student success. Maintains accurate and complete records, adhering to relevant laws, policies, and regulations. Participates in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and other activities that support school improvement and community engagement. Essential Qualifications: The Skills and Knowledge We Require To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from a regionally accredited college or university. A valid Educator Certification: Professional Eligibility Certificate (PEC) issued by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE). One (1) year of experience with virtual learning technology, remote instruction platforms, Learning Management Systems, and video conferencing tools (if assigned to Virtual Academy). Knowledge of school organization, curriculum, teaching techniques, and current trends in physical education. Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills. Ability to infuse technology into curriculum and demonstrate proficiency with business technology applications. Bilingual and biliterate skills (if assigned to a bilingual program). Preferred Qualifications: The Skills and Knowledge That Set You Apart While not essential, the following qualifications will be highly regarded: Experience working with diverse student populations and developing culturally responsive teaching practices. Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and physical restraint methods. Experience with curriculum development and implementation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
