Key Responsibilities As an External Support Engineer at blithequark, you will be responsible for providing technical support to external content teams, ensuring seamless use of the tools provided by the internal development team. Your key responsibilities will include: Providing technical support to content/external teams in regards to the use of content tools, addressing issues, and resolving problems in a timely and efficient manner Creating reference materials and delivering training sessions to get external teams up to speed with the toolset, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices Solving and debugging possible issues with tools and workflows, collaborating with the tools team to resolve complex issues and improve overall system performance Escalating more complex or problematic issues to the tool development team, working closely with production to track these issues in JIRA and ensure prompt resolution Advocating for tools, workflow improvements, and suggestions from external teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation Partnering with other engineers to develop tools and processes that improve efficiency and quality, driving cross-disciplinary dialogs to drive features from initial concept to completion Exemplifying reliability, accountability, and professionalism in all work-related interactions, serving as a role model for the blithequark team and its external partners Essential Qualifications and Skills To succeed as an External Support Engineer at blithequark, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications and skills: Ability to read and understand C# code, with a strong foundation in computer science and software engineering principles Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience working with external partners and stakeholders Positive attitude and ability to receive and provide objective and constructive feedback, with a strong emphasis on continuous learning and self-improvement Excellent organization skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage numerous requests simultaneously in a fast-paced environment Self-motivating and able to work independently, with a strong sense of accountability and ownership Preferred Qualifications and Experience While not essential, the following qualifications and experience are highly desirable for the External Support Engineer role at blithequark: Computer Science or related degree, or equivalent work experience in a related field Experience supporting a live service or tool environment, with a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with real-time systems Unity 3D game and tool development experience, with a strong foundation in game development principles and practices Experience with Jira, Confluence, or other defect tracking software, with a strong understanding of agile development methodologies and version control systems iOS and Android mobile development experience, with a strong foundation in mobile app development principles and practices 5 years' experience in delivering production-level code in a professional environment, with a strong emphasis on quality, reliability, and performance Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth, providing our employees with the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to succeed in their careers.
