E-Commerce Product & Data Analyst (Cycling Industry) – Contract, Remote Contract | 20 hours per week | Remote (U.S.-based) Duration: 3–6 months (potential for extension) Start Date: ASAP About the Role We’re a brick-and-mortar-based e-commerce retailer in the cycling industry, with multiple physical locations shipping parts, accessories, and bikes across the country. We’re expanding our online presence and looking for an E-Commerce Product & Data Analyst to help us analyze, optimize, and streamline our online business systems this winter. This contract position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving operational challenges, working with data, and supporting growth initiatives in a small-business environment. You’ll help identify and fix data issues, optimize catalog accuracy, and support day-to-day online retail operations. Responsibilities • Analyze large data sets (Excel/CSV) to identify inconsistencies, gaps, or cleanup needs. • Audit and synchronize product catalogs between Shopify, POS, and internal systems. • Research and document operational issues, providing written findings and recommendations. • Develop or refine business process documentation (SOPs, BRDs, user guides). • Perform basic financial and operational analysis to support decision-making. • Research and evaluate software tools or integrations to improve efficiency. • Support improvements to online product listings and customer-facing content. • Collaborate asynchronously and independently with minimal supervision. Qualifications Required: • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. • Advanced Excel proficiency (VLOOKUP, filtering, data cleanup, import/export troubleshooting). • Experience managing large data sets and maintaining product or inventory catalogs. • Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality work on schedule. • U.S.-based, able to work remotely in any time zone. Preferred: • Experience or deep knowledge of the cycling industry. • Familiarity with Shopify, Lightspeed Retail (R-Series), or similar e-commerce/POS systems. • Experience using AI tools (ChatGPT, Excel Copilot, etc.) to improve efficiency. • Experience writing business documentation and process guides. • Basic knowledge of CSS or web content formatting. • Patience for repetitive data cleanup or product maintenance tasks. • Financial analysis experience or comfort with retail metrics.
