About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Internal Counsel / Senior Paralegal with deep expertise in U.S. employment-based immigration law. The ideal candidate will have significant experience handling O-1, EB-1, and EB-2 NIW petitions, including drafting, reviewing, and managing complex filings from start to finish. This role requires strong legal writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide strategic guidance on case preparation and client positioning. Key Responsibilities • Provide in-house legal support on U.S. immigration matters, with a focus on O-1, EB-1, and EB-2 NIW petitions. • Conduct legal research on immigration regulations, case precedents, and USCIS policy updates to ensure filings are accurate, compliant, and strategically sound. • Oversee preparation and submission of petitions; review and revise documents, including petition letters, forms, and supporting statements, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely delivery. • Collaborate with case managers and client success teams to ensure quality control, compliance, and adherence to timelines. • Advise internal teams on case strategies, risk assessments, and optimal legal positioning for clients. • Draft and respond to Requests for Evidence (RFEs) and Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs) with persuasive and well-supported legal arguments. • Maintain and continuously update the internal knowledge base, templates, and best practices for immigration petition preparation. • Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards in the practice of immigration law. Qualifications Education • J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and active bar membership (preferred), OR • Bachelor’s degree with significant immigration paralegal experience at a law firm or in-house setting. • Experience: • 7 years of professional experience in U.S. immigration law, with at least 5 years focused directly on O-1, EB-1, and/or EB-2 NIW petitions. • Demonstrated success drafting and managing complex immigration petitions and RFE/NOID responses. • Prior in-house counsel or senior paralegal experience strongly preferred Skills & Competencies • Strong legal research and persuasive writing skills. • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational ability. • Ability to analyze client profiles and advise on optimal case strategies. • Proficiency with case management systems and document automation tools. Preferred Qualifications • Bar admission in good standing (if applying as Counsel). • Experience in high-volume petition environments (boutique firms, specialized practices). • Track record of developing internal processes, templates, and best practices to improve efficiency and consistency. • Comfort with AI and legal tech tools for case support and knowledge management. • Lots of experience with IT founders and other extraordinary clients in the tech and business world.
