Immigration Clerk

Remote Full-time
Hey there, we’re Gale We are a VC-backed immigration platform transforming how U.S. companies hire international talent. By combining advanced automation with expert legal counsel, we replace opaque, paper-heavy processes with a transparent, tech-enabled experience. We’ve already helped 70+ high-growth startups and enterprises navigate the immigration landscape. We’re backed by Y Combinator, have raised $2.7M from leading VCs, and have a strong presence in Silicon Valley. Now, we’re looking for top talent to help us scale. Our goal is simple: let software handle the busy work so attorneys can focus on strategy, and immigrants can focus on their future. Role Overview We are looking for a meticulous Immigration Clerk to join our remote team. While we are a digital-first company, USCIS is not. In this role, you will bridge the gap between our cutting-edge software and the government’s physical requirements. You will serve as the "final gatekeeper" for our petitions, ensuring that every page we ship to the government is perfect. This is not a drafting role; it is a high-volume production and logistics role. You will be responsible for the physical production, quality control, and shipping of critical immigration filings. If you are obsessed with organization, have an eye for detail that catches a single misaligned page, and know how to manage high-speed printing equipment, we want you. Core Responsibilities • Production & Assembly: Receive finalized petition packets in PDF format. You will manage the physical printing of these documents, often hundreds of pages long, ensuring they are printed correctly (single vs. double-sided, color vs. black and white) and assembled with the correct tabbing and order. • Quality Assurance (Physical & Digital): You are the last line of defense. You will verify that the printed physical packet matches the digital PDF 100%—checking for printing errors, smudges, or missing pages. You will also scan the signed physical petitions back into PDF format to ensure we have a perfect digital replica for our records. • Logistics & Shipping: Package assembled petitions securely and ensure same-day shipment. You will generate labels, track packages, and ensure physically signed filings reach the nearest shipping center (FedEx/UPS) before the daily cutoff time. • Digital File Management: Maintain strict digital hygiene within our system. You will rename documents according to our naming conventions, organize client folders, and upload scanned receipt notices or RFEs. • Administrative Support: Manage the intake process by sending out engagement letters to new clients and performing data entry tasks to keep our case management system up to date. Requirements • Experience: Minimum 2+ years of experience specifically within an immigration law firm environment. You must understand what a petition looks like (I-129, I-140, etc.) and the importance of government deadlines. • Production Expertise: You must have prior experience physically assembling and shipping immigration petitions. You know how to tab exhibits, handle high-volume printing, and troubleshoot printer jams under pressure. • Location: Remote (United States). However, you must live within a reasonable distance of a major shipping center (FedEx/UPS) to facilitate same-day drops. • Tech-Proficiency: You are comfortable working with PDFs (Adobe Acrobat Pro), renaming files, and navigating folder structures. You are eager to use modern tools (Slack, Google Workspace) to coordinate with the legal team. • The Mission: You understand that a "paperwork error" isn't just an annoyance - it can cost someone their visa. You take extreme pride in sending out a pristine package. • The Equipment: You have (or are willing to accommodate) a professional home office setup capable of handling high-volume scanning and printing. What you can expect • Compensation: $45,000 — $55,000/year (or hourly equivalent), depending on experience and operational capability. • Location: 100% Remote. Work from your home office. • Impact: Your efficiency directly affects our speed. By handling the logistics, you allow our attorneys to help more founders and scientists build the future in the U.S. • Culture: A fast-paced environment where we value reliability over hierarchy. You will work directly with our legal and engineering teams to help us optimize how we build physical packets. Apply tot his job
