Job Summary As a Biology Student Tutor and Science Learning Center Desk Attendant, you will play a critical role in supporting students in the Science Learning Center, providing tutoring services, administrative assistance, and technical support. Key Responsibilities Tutoring and Academic Support: Provide individualized and group tutoring services to students in biology and related courses, leveraging your knowledge and expertise to address students' academic needs and challenges. Desk Attendant Duties: Welcome students, answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and perform administrative tasks, such as printing, filing, and data entry. Technical Support: Assist students with simple computer tasks, including using the online tutoring center and sign-in system. Center Operations: Help maintain the Science Learning Center's organization, cleanliness, and overall functionality, ensuring a productive and supportive learning environment. Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Science Learning Center Coordinator, including special projects, events, and initiatives. Requirements and Qualifications Education: Currently enrolled as a student at Stark State College. Academic Achievement: Earned an A or B in the biology or related courses you wish to tutor. Communication Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Technical Skills: Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and online platforms. Flexibility: Availability to work flexible hours, 5-20 hours per week, including Mondays-Thursdays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Preferred Qualifications Prior Tutoring Experience: Experience as a tutor or teaching assistant. Coursework: Completion of additional coursework in biology or related fields. Certifications: Relevant certifications or licensures.
