Role Snapshot: Position: Windows / Linux Systems Administrator – Remote Work Start Date: Immediate openings available Location: Remote (work from home) Company: Workwarp Compensation: Competitive salary ($80,000+ DOE) and comprehensive benefits package Key Responsibilities: As a Windows / Linux Systems Administrator at Workwarp, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems. Your primary responsibilities will include: Day-to-day support of server and application environments, including troubleshooting and issue resolution Collaboration with IT functional areas to design and implement operational requirements for new and existing IT systems Troubleshooting intricate systems and networking issues, from the bit level to the application layer Providing critical thinking and problem-solving skills to complex problems in a 24/7, mission-critical mixed Windows/Linux environment Processing, monitoring, and prioritizing trouble tickets, and ensuring timely resolution Installing new or rebuilding existing servers, and configuring hardware, services, settings, directories, and storage in accordance with company standards Automating tasks and processes wherever possible, using tools like Ansible Remote datacenter design support and management Participating in on-call rotation and supporting other key initiatives as needed Essential Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need: B.S. in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field Active or near completion of MCSE, CCNA, or similar IT certification (a plus) Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with management, vendors, and external parties Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to multitask, work independently, and as part of a team Willingness to work some weekend shifts in support of maintenance and participate in on-call rotation duties Preferred Skills and Competencies: We are looking for candidates with: Strong understanding of the TCP/IP suite Experience with Ansible and automating a Windows environment Extensive knowledge of Active Directory and Exchange Server Experience with packet sniffing applications (Snort, TCPDump, Wireshark) Knowledge of the latest server hardware technology and trends Experience with core system administration and troubleshooting for Windows Solid knowledge of scripting languages (bash, python, PowerShell) Experience with bug/ticket tracking systems like JIRA (a plus) Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: At Workwarp, we are committed to the professional growth and development of our team members.
