Valuation Manager (Venture Capital/Private Companies)

Description aVenture is a San Francisco, California (USA) based financial technology startup, with a small global team (North and South America, Europe, Asia) looking to forever change investing by making venture capital investment funds available to everyone. aVenture is seeking a knowledgeable valuation specialist with experience in venture capital and private company valuation. We are looking for 1-2 valuation professionals to join us part-time or full-time (20 to 40 hours a week), and this position is available at a fixed rate of compensation per month or hourly rate, depending on schedule arrangements made by the candidate. This is a remote position that can be done from anywhere in the world (work from home). This position requires a regular work schedule and must have at least 4 hours of US Pacific Time availability per weekday in your schedule. Desired skills: • Experience valuing private companies and/or startups (e.g., venture capital, private equity, other asset class experience is beneficial as well) • Excellent analytical, report writing and organizational skills • Excellent understanding of company, industry, economic research, financial statements and valuations • Strong quantitative skills • Experience in applying technical research skills needed to gather, organize, summarize, and interpret data to arrive at a conclusion • Experience providing detailed valuation reports • Good verbal and written communication skills • Commitment to obtaining outstanding results Job duties: • Analyze privately held companies and securities • Perform valuation analysis on a wide range of private companies across different industries • Prepare business valuation models and reports • Design and work with financial models for discounted cash flow, market multiple, market transaction and option pricing analyses • Assist in preparing and presenting the results of your analysis in a clear and concise manner • Collaborate with team members to share information and insights • Perform in-depth client, industry, market and competitor research • Perform detailed analysis of financial and legal documents, analysis of potentially fraudulent transactions, and reconstruction of financial statements Qualifications required: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or concentration in finance, accounting, economics, or related fields; Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholders or candidates and NACVA certificate holders (including CVA) are also considered to meet this requirement • Strong analytical, research, and sampling and quantitative abilities • Experience conducting company valuation, particularly in the venture capital sector What to expect • You’ll be working with an experienced, knowledgeable, and friendly team of people passionate about making venture capital accessible for everyone • Each employee on our team is expected to have a stable work schedule they establish for when they begin and end work each day, and must have at least 4 hours of US Pacific Time business hours available Monday through Friday daily • A successful valuation professional will manage their time carefully, maintaining time entries of their work and managing a successful task board (such as Jira), and participate in daily brief check-in meetings, along with weekly planning meetings Salary $60,000 - $90,000 per year Apply tot his job
