Titling Reconciliation Specialist
Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance, Inc. is a national housing lender dedicated to making homeownership more attainable. The Titling Reconciliation Specialist is responsible for overseeing titling fees, correcting inaccuracies, and collaborating with various teams to resolve fee-related issues. Responsibilities Monitors and tracks under-collected title fees Tracks expensed amounts to identify trends and opportunities for process improvements Provides coaching and feedback to team members regarding errors, including home center mistakes Records and deposits conversion fees received for post-close conversions Tracks Uniform Commercial Code payments Monitors Retail credit card charges and reports findings to Accounts Payable Assesses Vintek fee updates to ensure accuracy Collaborates with Clayton Retail and Vanderbilt Mortgage & Finance (VMF) Accounting and Connect Lending teams to resolve fee-related issues Partners with Retail Accounts Payable to process customer reimbursements Report refunds to VMF Originations to ensure required customer disclosures are issued Processes deposits for various types of refunds Processes refunds of overpaid conversion and recording fees now managed by Corporation Service Company to Principal Balance Reviews uncashed checks for VMF and takes necessary follow-up actions Communicates promptly with the title clerk to reproduce title work when needed Ensures checks are coded accurately to the correct General Ledger accounts Enters journal entries to correct invalid entries or inaccurate postings Logs checks to be voided with accuracy and attention to detail Works with Treasury to reconcile outstanding fees and ensure proper allocation This job description is not an exhaustive list of all the functions that a team member and other duties may be assigned Skills High school graduate 1-2 years of related experience Self-motivated Strong sense of urgency to achieve daily deadlines Strong verbal communication skills Attention to detail and task driven Ability to coach and instruct others Knowledge of titling and conversion requirements Ability to learn and train others to use all systems (AS400, LINK, Velocity and Deal Tracker) Knowledge of title commitments, appraisals, and deeds of trusts Ability to develop relationships with home center personnel and management College degree Benefits Medical and Dental Plan with Prescription Coverage and Vision.
