We’re seeking a Texas Title Examiner to support our foreclosure and REO operations by ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely title decisions across the state of Texas. You’ll conduct in-depth reviews of Texas land records, analyze documents to determine insurability, and identify potential title defects. What You’ll Do: • Perform thorough Texas title examinations of public records (deeds, mortgages, tax records, judgments, liens, plats, etc.). • Prepare Texas-compliant title commitments, preliminary title reports, and ownership histories in accordance with state and underwriter requirements. • Identify title defects, such as breaks in chain of title, unreleased liens, or other encumbrances unique to Texas. • Communicate clearly with curative staff, underwriters, attorneys, and clients. • Work with underwriters to obtain special coverage and endorsements per Texas regulations. • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Texas title insurance requirements and underwriting standards. • Ensure timely delivery of title products within established deadlines. • Maintain accurate documentation within the title production system. • Escalate complex Texas-specific issues to management or underwriting as needed. • Consistently meet SLAs, quality expectations, and internal performance metrics. • Support process improvements and assist in training new examiners when needed. • Perform other duties as assigned; occasional overtime may be required. What You Need: • 3+ years of experience specifically examining Texas title files (required). • Strong knowledge of Texas real estate documents, legal descriptions, property research, and title insurance underwriting. • Ability to interpret Texas surveys, plats, metes and bounds, and other legal descriptions. • Experience with Resware or other title production software is a plus. • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills. • Strong verbal and written communication abilities. • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
