Key Responsibilities As our ideal candidate, you will be expected to: Maintain an active national/international research profile, contributing to the advancement of music theory and its related fields. Teach two courses per semester, developing and delivering curricula that reflect your expertise and our college's commitment to inclusive excellence. Advise graduate students, providing guidance and mentorship as they pursue their academic and professional goals. Participate on College-wide committees, contributing to the governance and strategic development of our community. Essential and Preferred Qualifications To be considered for this role, you should possess: A completed PhD in Music Theory (ABD applicants will be considered). A strong research profile, with a focus on areas such as music cognition, empirical approaches, theory and analysis of world musics, music theory pedagogy, music, multimedia, and dance, or history of theory. Evidence of teaching excellence, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment. A demonstrated ability to contribute to the college's commitment to inclusive excellence, including experience working with underserved communities or promoting inclusivity in your academic field. Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you will need: Expertise in music theory, with a strong understanding of current research and pedagogical practices.
