Key Responsibilities: Prepare and deliver engaging lesson plans for accounting courses in both classroom and online settings Assist in developing program and course syllabi, goals, and objectives that align with industry standards Evaluate students' progress in attaining course goals and objectives, providing constructive feedback and support Participate in academic support services, including student advisement, registration, and tutoring Request and maintain necessary supplies and equipment, preparing budget requests as needed Ensure program certification requirements are met, staying up-to-date with relevant regulations and standards Prepare and maintain accurate documentation and administrative reports Stay current with industry trends and developments by attending staff development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences Serve on college committees, participate in community service activities, and contribute to college initiatives Maintain a safe and secure learning environment, adhering to college policies and procedures Meet with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss student progress and address concerns Demonstrate a high level of effort and commitment to performing work, operating effectively within the organizational structure Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts, working closely with local industries and the Department of Labor Requirements and Qualifications: Essential Qualifications: Master's degree in Accounting or a related field with 18 graduate semester hours in Accounting from an accredited post-secondary institution Three years of work experience in the Accounting field, demonstrating effective verbal and written communication skills Active participation in relevant professional or occupational organizations Preferred Qualifications: Documented experience teaching post-secondary Accounting courses Skills and Competencies: To succeed as a Technical Instructor in Accounting at Ogeechee Technical College, you will need: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to create engaging lesson plans and deliver effective instruction Strong organizational and time management skills Commitment to student success and academic support Knowledge of current trends and developments in accounting Ability to work effectively in a team environment Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: At Ogeechee Technical College, we are dedicated to supporting the professional growth and development of our faculty members.
