Senior Risk Manager, Global Food and Product Safety – Regulatory Compliance and Risk Assessment Expert

The Regulatory Intelligence, Safety, and Compliance (RISC) team plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of products sold on Amazon's platform. We are seeking an experienced Senior Risk Manager, Global Food and Product Safety to join our team and contribute to the development of product safety policies that meet worldwide regulatory obligations and enhance customer safety. Job Overview The Senior Risk Manager, Global Food and Product Safety will be responsible for conducting product safety risk assessments across a broad range of product categories, including but not limited to: OTC, cosmetics, medical devices, toys, products marketed to children, electronics/batteries, and household goods. This role requires a strong and diverse skillset in relevant areas, including compliance, audit, or risk management experience, as well as excellent analytical and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of regulatory requirements and industry practices related to product safety and will be able to make high-judgement decisions regarding policies related to product safety. Key Responsibilities Conduct product safety risk assessments across a broad range of product categories to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them Make high-judgement decisions regarding policies related to product safety in order to meet worldwide regulatory obligations and enhance customer safety Perform analysis of data from a variety of sources to identify possible risk indicators and support policy decisions Coordinate with Legal teams to integrate legal and safety analysis in support of key policy decisions Work with a wide range of cross-functional teams to communicate Amazon's safety and compliance strategies to stakeholders Communicate regularly with leadership and ensure consistent reporting against commitments Draft and present strategies to enhance risk management practices, including analysis of industry practices Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have: Basic Qualifications 6+ years of compliance, audit, or risk management experience Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level Bachelor's degree or equivalent Preferred Qualifications Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles/Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent Master's degree or equivalent What We Offer At Amazon, we are committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace and are an equal opportunity employer.
